humpty dumpty and church planting

Steven Berglass, professor of psychology at Harvard, has written an entertaining but also seriously provoking article on the difference between workaholics who think they should start a business and the true entrepreneur.  I think his humpty dumpty analysis of the workaholic applies to ministry and the allure of church planting.  Not every hard working minister is a church planter.  Give the article, Are You A Humpty Dumpty Entrepreneur?, a read and let me know what you think.

praying for Mexico today

We have been paying attention to our immeadiate neighbours to the South as they have installed their new president.  But today I am looking even further South to Mexico and praying that God would intervene on the spreading violence that increasingly engages the average person seeking to live a fairly righteous life.   Last week Joel Kurtzman of the Wall Street Journal sounded the alarm about the instability just lurking around the corner in that country.  Would you join me today in praying that God would bring those who love violence to justice and change the hearts of many people to love mercy, act justly, and walk humbly with God?

interactive site to discover god

I just navigated through the DiscoverGod site after being pointed that direction by Andrew Jones.   It is awesome!  I am so glad to see a multi-lingual interactive site that allows people to explore first steps in receiving Jesus as Lord for the forgiveness of their sins and enjoying new life.  Pass it on!

creating an environment where dyslexics THRIVE

Jennifer Steffenhagen has an informative article on the THRIVE program in ONE Vancouver public school.  THRIVE, under the leadership of teacher, Tyson Schoeber, seeks to create a learning environment helpful to those children with a languaged based learning difficulty.

Steffenhagen’s follow-up post in the Vancouver Sun is full of comments calling on the VSB and other school boards in BC to take an aggresive stance on the implementation of the Orten-Gillingham learning system.
